Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a national organization that serves local independent member organizations (“Local Boys & Girls Clubs”). Together, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Local Boys & Girls Clubs form one of the nation's largest networks of local youth organizations dedicated to promoting the health, social, educational, vocational, and character development of youth throughout the United States of America.
Each Boys & Girls Club organization is a separate legal entity, is governed by an independent board of directors, executive committee, or other governing body, and is solely responsible for its own affairs, including, but not limited to, matters of safety; compliance with federal, state and local laws; physical facilities; uses of technology, finances, policies, and programs; and personnel policies and decisions. Each Local Boys & Girls Club has sole authority to hire, terminate, and prescribe the duties and establish the terms of employment of its employees and officers.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America has no authority with respect to employment policies or decisions of Local Boys & Girls Clubs. Accordingly, each Local Boys & Girls Club controls its own affairs and Boys & Girls Clubs of America does not control and cannot be held responsible for the actions of Local Boys & Girls Clubs.

Members who wish to join the website must provide information to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. All membership requests are vetted by staff of Local Boys & Girls Clubs, who directly manage which of their members are allowed to use the website.

How BGCA Uses the Information It Collects
Not selling your information – BGCA will not sell, trade, rent or exchange member information.
Use of SSL and encryption – When BGCA transfers and receives certain types of sensitive information, we direct visitors to a secure server, which communicates via SSL encryption and which has been designed to reduce the possibility of interception and hacking. BGCA employs commercially reasonable managerial and technical measures to help protect the security and integrity of the personal information it collects online through this site. You acknowledge, however, that no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while BGCA strives to protect your personal information, BGCA cannot ensure the security of any information you transmit to or from this site.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ("COPPA") protects the personal information of children under the age of 13 ("children"). This applies to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, e-mail address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. Because we are a non-profit and for other reasons, BGCA is exempt from COPPA. The provision of a safe and secure online experience is, however, of the utmost importance to BGCA, and we implement important COPPA concepts voluntarily in order to protect the privacy of children.
We do not collect personal information in connection with use of the site unless a user registers, in which case we collect the information requested on our forms, which includes first name and last initial, birthdate, the name of the Club the child attends, and the name of the organization that runs that Club. We only collect as much information about a child as is reasonably necessary for the child to participate in the site, and we do not condition his or her participation on the disclosure of more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
We cannot control the actions of third parties with whom your child shares his or her information. We encourage parents to educate their children about safe Internet use and to carefully monitor their children's posting. Children own the rights to the content they create and post to the My.Future website, but posting that content to My.Future gives BGCA a non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, publish, reproduce, display, and prepare derivative works of that content elsewhere on My.Future and in connection with BGCA, including without limitation for promoting My.Future, BGCA, and Boys & Girls Clubs. BGCA will not use any content that contains a child's image, likeness, or voice without permission from the child and his or her guardian. BGCA will never sell a child's content to a third party without permission from the child and his or her guardian.
At any time, you may review your child's personal information maintained by us, require us to correct or delete the personal information, or refuse to permit us from further collecting or using the child's information. You can review, change, or delete your child's personal information by sending us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. To protect your privacy and security and that of our users, we may require you to speak with a representative or take additional steps or provide additional information to verify your identity before we provide any information, make corrections, or disable your child’s registration.
BGCA may revise these Privacy Policies at any time by updating this posting. Please consult these Privacy Policies regularly.
